Research Series: Part 6
Leslie Zhou(Zhou.2185) is a Computer Science & Engineering major conducting research at the Department of Material Science and Engineering as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. The Lab is the Center for Weldability Evaluation. Their mission:
The Center for Weldability Evaluation addresses failures and loss of properties in welds of advanced alloys,
Facilitates implementation of advanced alloys in critical welded structures,
Supports invention and development of metallic alloys with improved weldability,
Develops innovative tools and methods for weldability evaluation,
Contributes to improvement of energy efficiency, safety, service performance and reliability in power generation and power conversion systems.
Her task is to develop data analyzing software. She works around 36 hours for the summer, 10–15 hours during the school year.
