A lot of our members are involved in amazing research around campus & even off campus! This series is to showcase their achievements and also serve as a guide for how you can get involved in research!

Part 3: Research at Dr. Bakshi’s Lab

Claire Penrose is a fourth year Chemical Engineering major. She worked as a Process Research Assistant in a lab that focuses on environmental impact and monetary amount of certain food or external factors.

Claire did most of her work on her computer. She did mostly online data analysis with some meetings.

To get this position Claire emailed the professor she found on the OSU Chemical Engineering Department Website!

The time commitment was fairly minimal at this lab and there were many opportunities to be published!

Claire became involved in this lab because she was really interested in environmental impacts.

Claire’s advice for people interested in research: “Do it if you are genuinely interested and have the time to give it”
