Elevator Pitch Prep with Accenture

Event (09/08/20):

Representatives from Accenture presented on what exactly an elevator pitch is, how to write your elevator pitch, and what recruiters look for in elevator pitches. At the end of the event, everyone was split into breakout rooms to practice their elevator pitch.

Tips for your pitch:

⬤ What is an elevator pitch?: According to the ECS student handbook, an elevator pitch is “a short summary that describes who you are, what you do, what you want to do, and how you can be a resource to your listeners.”

⬤ Make a connection with the recruiter before you go into your pitch! They are a human being too and they are on a long day of zoom calls. Simply asking them how their day is going may make you stand out.

⬤ Introduce yourself.

⬤ Tell them the most important things about you: Major, Experience (Does it align with the company), Goals, Optional: ask a question at the end of your pitch.
